An asymmetrical dual channel digital TENS unit.

The electrodes supplied differ from ordinary TENS pads by their increased size. The recommended minimum size for Obstetric TENS use is 100mm x 50mm.  Smaller electrodes should not be used.

The electrodes are placed as per the diagram for maximum comfort and relief.  Due to the remote hand-held boost control there is no need to change settings during contractions to increase intensity; simply press the boost button for an immediate intensity increase.  Once contraction has subsided; press boost button to return to rest mode.

Simple, yet effective.

There has been much study into Obstetric TENS for labour pain relief but. As with every labour, each and every experience is unique. From existing evidence, Obstetric Tens units can be an effective technique for pain control in over 80% of births; with no side effects.

The best results are obtained if the stimulator is used from the very onset of labour.  If insufficient pain relief is obtained by using the Obstetric Tens alone; then improved pain relief can be acheived by using smaller amounts of analgesia to compliment the TENS unit.
